Managed Services IT Help Desk Technician

StratX IT Solutions is looking for a full-time, experienced IT Help Desk Technician to provide remote support to our client base out of our St. Cloud,MN office. Our newest StratXian is a highly proactive and reliable person capable of working independently and as part of a team, completing and escalating incidents as needed.

The IT Help Desk Technician must have...
  • 2 or more years of help desk or field service experience
  • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills: experience with diagnosing, repairing and explaining a variety of IT issues to end users verbally and written
  • Drive to get the job done and make the client happy.

Our technicians work on a variety of issues every day.  It is important that our new StratXian have experience troubleshooting and repairing issues with the following:

  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Desktop applications, including MS Office, QuickBooks, VPN access, Adobe, etc.
  • Microsoft Office 365 and other hosted email solutions
  • Backup software and virus removal
  • Peripheral devices, including network printers, scanners, monitors & UPS devices
  • Wireless controllers and access points, routers, firewalls and network switches
  • Tablets and mobile devices

Day-to-day network administration of client servers and workstations including adding users, printers, installing applications, etc. is an important skill to us as well.  A requirement for this position is that the candidate have clear verbal and written communication skills to provide technical and follow-up support to our clients.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a desktop or field service role
  • 2-4 years of customer service experience in a technology company
  • 4 year degree from an accredited institution
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Hands-on experience with Windows desktops
  • Experience with TCP/IP and networking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written client communication and customer service skills
